backdrop
Registers under Backdrops · source: modules/backdrop/v1
backdrop — a Module for the background art behind a browse image: the Shop's item grid or a Trading Hall's listings (see bot/backdrops.py, bot/item_comparison_card.py's render_comparison_grid). Pure display data, so it's open to community authoring (`COMMUNITY_SCHEMA` below — every field is cosmetic, no balance numbers). `image_id` is the filename stem of the art in assets/backgrounds/ (`image_id="general_store"` -> assets/backgrounds/general_store.png), same convention and same [a-z0-9_] restriction as an item's `icon_id`; empty (or no such file) draws a generated placeholder. Which backdrop a Guild actually uses is that Guild's own choice (`/guild backdrop`); with no choice, the first backdrop for the station (by id) is the default.
Example Usage
# Migrated from content/backdrops/general_store.py (2026-10-14 cleanup
# pass) -- every backdrop field is community-settable (pure display data).

Arguments Reference
The following arguments are supported:
-
id- (Required) The unique id this record is registered and referenced under — what a `.resource` file's own filename-independent identity is, and what any other content's foreign-key-style field (a dungeon node's `next`, a skill node's `parent_id`, and so on) points at. community -
name- (Required) The player-facing display label — shown everywhere a player sees this record (shop listings, inventory, character sheet, etc.); the raw id is never shown directly. community -
station- (Required) Valid options arehallandshop. community -
image_id- (Optional) `image_id` is the filename stem of the art in assets/backgrounds/ (`image_id="general_store"` -> assets/backgrounds/general_store.png), same convention and same [a-z0-9_] restriction as an item's `icon_id`; empty (or no such file) draws a generated placeholder. community -
description- (Optional) Flavor text shown to players — pure display data with no effect on game mechanics. community
